Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026
Who we are
Bay Sail Club is operated by Noah Solt, based in San Francisco, California. By using Bay Sail Club or booking a sail, you're agreeing to these terms.
What you're booking
Bay Sail Club offers recreational sailing experiences on San Francisco Bay aboard a privately owned vessel, operated by a USCG licensed captain. Sails are subject to availability, weather, and the captain's discretion.
Payments
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. A Single Passage is $125 per seat, set at the captain's discretion — pricing may vary for special occasions or invited guests. Crew membership is $125 per month, billed on your subscription anniversary date. Extra passages purchased as a crew member are charged at the current passage rate and do not expire or reset monthly.
Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled sail. Cancellations within 24 hours are not eligible for a refund. Single Passage cancellations outside the 24-hour window are refunded in full to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days. Crew membership can be cancelled anytime through your account — access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Weather and the captain's call
Sailing is an outdoor activity. If a sail is cancelled by Bay Sail Club due to unsafe conditions, all affected bookings will be refunded in full. The captain has final authority over whether a sail proceeds. We don't guarantee specific weather or conditions.
Liability
When you book a sail, you acknowledge that sailing on San Francisco Bay involves inherent risks including rough water, strong winds, boat motion, and the possibility of falling overboard. You agree to participate voluntarily and accept these risks. To the extent permitted by California law, you release Noah Solt and Bay Sail Club from liability for injury or loss arising from ordinary negligence. This does not apply to gross negligence or intentional misconduct. A full waiver is presented when booking a sail and must be accepted before confirming your spot. Crew membership itself does not require a waiver.
Conduct on board
The captain's instructions are final on the water. Bay Sail Club may refuse boarding or end a sail for anyone who is intoxicated, behaving unsafely, or not following the captain's directions. No refund will be issued in such cases.
Your guests
You are responsible for ensuring any guests you bring are aware of and agree to these terms before boarding. By adding a guest to your booking, you confirm this on their behalf.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Bay Sail Club after changes means you accept the updated terms.
